Cathy Muszynski's Personal Page
I walk every year to support The Wellness House. I walk for Jim and Jack Muszynski, brothers who were courageous in the face of cancer. I walk for all of our loved ones who have bravely faced cancer and survived, and those who are facing and dealing with cancer today.
This year I am also walking for myself. In September 2019 I was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a malignant form of brain cancer. The tumor was removed in October, and I am grateful that the cancer is considered in remission after 8 months of radiation and chemotherapy. I would not be able to face this without Wellness House. During the Coronavirus outbreak they have pivoted quickly from in-person to online programming that I use every single day, keeping me both physically and mentally strong for my fight that continues.
It is hard to believe that 21 years has passed since Jim's death and now I find myself again in the care of Wellness House. The support we received before his death and the support I received through the grief support group after was priceless. Jennie Cella, President and CEO, was Jim's facilitator and my grief support facilitator. Now I rely on the same support, understanding, and guidance once again. I cannot underestimate the monumental impact Wellness House had on our family; and the countless numbers of people and families during the past 20 years. And, their support is only possible through the generosity of folks like you.
Cancer can feel overwhelming, for patients and their families. It can be confusing and frightening. Fortunately, when it comes to living with cancer, Wellness House is there. All of Wellness House services are provided free of charge to anyone and everyone who walks through the door seeking assistance. The Wellness House is 100% funded by contributions.
The welcoming, encouraging feeling starts the moment you walk in the door. They aren’t located in a hospital or an office building. Rather, they are in a warm, friendly home in a neighborhood where you will find caring people with the expertise and eagerness to help. Their hope is that people will feel less alone, more informed, and more empowered to take on the challenge of facing cancer.
With support groups, exercise and nutrition classes, social events, and much, much more, Wellness House is designed to give back the strength, community, and control that cancer can take away. Since you can’t put a price on these things, they don’t either - there’s absolutely no charge for all of the programs and services that they offer.
This cause is very important to me, and I hope you will join us by making a donation (every single dollar helps) or by JOINING TEAM MUSZYNSKI! Just click on the link below.
