Welcome to My Personal Page
I am a lymphoma cancer survivor. I was diagnosed in 2006 with follicular non-hodgkins lymphoma, which was "wait and see" without treatment. In August 2007 the follicular lymphoma transformed to aggressive diffuse large B cell lymphoma. The day I was to retire I found out this news. I had chemo treatment August thru December 2007.
In January 2008 I found out that the chemo treatment had not worked and I would need a stem cell transplant. In April 2008 I had an auto/own stem cell transplant at Northwestern. I have been in remission since April 29, 2008. I participated in two clinical trials during my cancer treatment.
During my cancer journey I benefited from the Wellness House programs on a weekly or more often basis for over a year. Wellness House was a safe haven being around professional and others knowing about and going through cancer treatments. Now I go to programs on an occasional basis, but I do participate in the annual Walk. This year 2018 I am celebrating 10 years in remission!
