For Mary Alice and countless others we know and love!
I used to say that I was grateful to not know cancer personally as cancer had not touched my family members in a personal way.
I cannot say that anymore.
I know now the fear that someone faces that comes with a cancer diagnosis. I also know the comfort that has come from education, support groups, and being in community with other people and their family members as they fight cancer and live beyond it. The support groups and educational programs have provided a comfort to the people I love that I cannot. For that reason among others, I am walking to raise funds for the Wellness House programs.
Please walk with us, donate what you can, and remember to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you.
Below you will find the official Wellness House blurb that is worth reading also:
No matter how someone has been affected by cancer — maybe they've been diagnosed, have a family member who’s living with cancer, or are a caregiver — everyone is welcome at Wellness House. There, they can learn new skills, get information, and join others when taking classes, practice healthful living, reduce stress, and more. All Wellness House programs and services are led by experts, designed to help participants feel better, at no cost to patients and their families. They offer more than 300 programs every month!
Everything Wellness House does is to prepare and empower people to fully live life with cancer and beyond.
Wellness House has been doing this important work for more than 28 years. They are able to offer these critical services, at no cost to those affected by cancer, thanks to generous support from donors.
This cause is very important to me, and I hope you will join me by making a donation.
