The scariest news I got in my life was the phrase, "You have cancer." I went through a whirlwind of testing and surgery and facing continuing treatment. How would I handle all this? Then I received some of the best advice I got in my life, "Check out Wellness House."
No matter how someone has been affected by cancer — maybe they've been diagnosed, have a family member who’s living with cancer, or are a caregiver — you're welcome at Wellness House. Learn new skills, get information, and join others when you take classes, practice healthful living, reduce stress, and more. I walked in here to try out a class, and have connected with people on so many levels. I have turned into a yoga-holic, and feel stronger because of it. I found support through scary waiting times for test results, and shared the joy of positive news. I have friends to help me through little things like drawing on eyebrows and big things like talking about the meaning of the rest of my life.
In response to the coronavirus pandemic, Wellness House quickly adapted programming to be accessible online. As I have been going through chemo, I could continue to get help, take classes, and connect with others daily.
You can't put a price on what Wellness House provides. So they don't. Thanks to the generosity of people like you that provide gifts to Wellness House, there's absolutely no charge for all programs and services. As for me, Wellness House is priceless!
I am participating in the Walk for Wellness House because I know how important support and community is for people impacted by cancer, and I want to ensure their access to the life-changing programs and services at Wellness House.
I hope you will join me by making a donation to help me reach my fundraising goals, but more importantly to help people affected by cancer in our community. Wellness House has been a tremendous gift to me and people like me. Thank you for making sure it continues!
