2018 Walk for Wellness House

Fairmount Falcons

Welcome to the Fairmount Team Page!

Carla Bolton, a student at Fairmount recently wrote this about her experience at the Wellness House.

Please listen to her story and how the Wellness House helped her and her family as her mom, Nicola is fighting to beat cancer.

Please read and consider joining our team by walking or by making a donation on behalf of the Bolton Family.

From Carla:

The Wellness House helped us as a family while dealing with cancer. When someone in the family gets cancer, it makes a lot of stress and sadness for them, their family and friends. I was very afraid and had a lot of questions. All I wanted was for my Mom to get well.

The Wellness House is a place where you can learn more about cancer and meet other people going through the same as you. I joined the kids group, which was very helpful to work through my feelings together with the other kids. There are many activities also. At Stress Free Saturday, we learned how to stay calm and relax with yoga and meditation. My Dad and I took a class about healthy cooking and we also had a counselor to help us with our thoughts. I could not imagine dealing with cancer without the Wellness House.

At the Wellness House, all support services are free, so that anyone can benefit, because anyone can get cancer. It’s only possible because of donations from generous people and companies. We are fundraising so more people can visit the Wellness House, it is very important. Please join our team and “walk for wellness.”
